A facelift is a powerful tool that can restore the natural youthful contours of the face. If there is a non-surgical approach for improving the contours of your cheeks, jawline, or neck, Doctor Zoumalan will recommend this first. However, after a certain point, excess skin, fat and sagging muscle requires surgery to restore a vibrant, youthful appearance.
A facelift is a surgical procedure which includes improvement from the cheeks and jawline down to, and including the neck. Dr. Zoumalan performs variations of the surgery depending on the individual’s needs. These include the “minilift” and the “deep-plane” facelift. Both approaches are done artfully with care to create a vibrant and youthful face that does not look operated on.
The mini-lift is a mini-facelift. Incisions are smaller, the surgery is shorter, and the healing is faster. This is an ideal surgery for those that have busy lives. The improvement is significant, natural, and long-lasting. Learn more about mini facelift in Beverly Hills
The Deep-Plane Facelift
Dr. Zoumalan’s Timeless Deep-Plane Facelift offers the most advanced technique and least invasive approach to full facial rejuvenation. Dr. Zoumalan’s aging face patients experience a full restoration of volume loss, skin laxity and texture with the most artistic approach to naturally existing contours and little to no signs of ever having surgery.
The deep-plane aspect refers to the suspension of deeper tissues to give a complete/long-lasting lift. While this surgery requires longer incisions and longer operative/healing time than the Mini-lift, incisions heal extremely well. Most people can go to social gatherings at night 10-12 days with little to no signs of surgery.
During your consultation, Dr. Zoumalan will want to get to know you as a complete person and understand your surgical goals. Whether your areas of concern are excess skin, sagging muscle or excess fat, Dr. Zoumalan will customize your surgical plan to address and resolve these concerns.

Full Facial Rejuvenation
This is a woman in her 60’s that underwent full facial rejuvenation. She underwent minimally invasive Facelift, endoscopic Browlift, and full face CO2 laser by Dr. Richard Zoumalan. Dr. Christopher Zoumalan, an Oculoplastic Surgeon, performed upper and lower lid Blepharoplasty. The brothers (Drs. Richard and Chris) are the only surgeons in the world who regularly perform this surgery together as a super-specialized duo.
Dr. Zoumalan uses incisions which are well hidden. This is a photo of a man in his 50’s who underwent a facelift. The incisions are hidden well in places that make it difficult to find them.
Minimally Invasive Facelift
How are incisions tailored to each patient’s individual face using this technique?
There are many different ways to perform facelift surgery. However, many people want an approach that decreases their healing time without sacrificing the result. As a result, I have developed a deep plane facelift technique which tailors each surgery to the individual. The result of this technique is happy patients who can get back to their lives more quickly.
The Minimally Invasive approach to Facelift surgery tailors each surgery to each individual. It decreases healing time, decreases the length of incisions, and therefore gets people back to work and social activities sooner. In most people, there is no need for the long incisions that go deep into the hairline behind the ear.
This photograph demonstrates the length of incision for those that would be best helped with the minimal incision approach. This is also known as short scar.
This technique does not sacrifice result, as it still is a deep plane technique which lifts the tissues in a natural and long-lasting way. This surgery is best for those with thinner necks who need mild to moderate improvement. For people that have heavier necks, long incisions may be needed. The consultation can help determine which approach is the best approach for you.

I was injured on January 7, 2012 in a mo-ped/scooter accident in Cozumel, Mexico. My entire body head to toe (literally) endured horrendous road rash, my nose broke & plenty more. The level of care I received from dr Zoumalan & his entire office was/is truly indescribable but I shall try!
It’s been a year since my septoplasty and rhinoplasty and I am extremely happy with my results. Not only has my breathing dramatically improved, I am sleeping better than ever. I feel healthier and it has significantly changed my exercise routine. I can definitely push myself harder and my workouts are longer and more efficient. Best part is I don’t get that winded feeling or stuffy or runny nose while running. I didn’t realize how many aspects of my life would change after the surgery.
I had a Face and Neck Lift on December 3rd, 2014. Dr. Zoumalan does excellent work! He is very thorough in explaining the procedure, and has an excellent bedside manner. I am so happy with my result. I would highly recommend Dr. Zoumalan.
So when I met with Richard Zoumalan, I gave him a picture of me when I was 42, and I said, “That’s what I want. Is that possible?” And he said, “Yes!” He explained what he’d do, and how he would do it. I had surgery less than a month ago, and amazingly, I look almost exactly like me, only about 25 years younger.
