In the operating room, Dr, Zoumalan found very weak nasal tip cartilages that had to be restructured using a septal extension graft, which is a complex maneuver that extends and elongates the tip. The weak cartilages give the impression that the hump is large, but it is actually the weak tip that makes the bump look bigger. One can see the improvement in his nose while still retaining his ethnic attributes. Dr. Zoumalan and the patient used preoperative image morphing of the profile to decide how the patient's nose would best look after surgery. This is how the plan was decided.
